In the dynamic business world, merger and acquisition holds an important position in the minds of corporates. It forms the cornerstone of various advanced strategies like DIVERSIFICATION, GROWTH ,etc. From the investor’s perspective, it puts a direct impact on the value of the companies securities, financial instruments,etc. These strategy can work in favour or adversely for the company. I was amazed when I came to know about these calculated risk which large corporations took by acquiring another company. § VIDEOCON acquired THOMSON SA which is a major electronics giant .


§ VIDEOCON acquired PLANET M from BENNET COLEMAN for 200 CRORE INR.


§ Italian Coffee giant LAVAZZA acquired BARISTA from STERLING INFOTECH.


§ Japan’s No.3 company DAIICHII SANKYO acquires 51% of RANBAXY, India’s largest pharmaceutical company.


§ German auto company VOLKSWAGEN acquires SKODA AUTO of Czech republic.
